During Pine Hills Community Council’s February monthly virtual general meeting, Sector 1 Captain Joe Carter, informed the listeners that the crime stats in all categories are way down with the comparison down 30% within the past 3 weeks and 49% from the same period last year. He thanked everyone for their hard work and coming together to make a difference in our community.
Captain Carter also reported there is an increase throughout Orange County in theft of catalytic converters, espcially of F250 /F350 trucks and E250/E350 vans like church and day care vans. If you turn on your van and you hear a loud noise, it may be that your vehicle’s catalytic converter was taken overnight. There is an active market for them to recover the rare metal components, such as platinum, palladium and rhodium. A single ounce of platinum is worth over one thousand dollars.
